⚽ RETRO GAFFER

Privacy

Last updated: 25 June 2026

The short version: Retro Gaffer has no ads, no third-party tracking, and no tracking cookies. You don't need an account or an email to play. Your game saves on your own device. The only data that ever leaves your device is what's needed to make the optional online features work — and that's tied to a random anonymous ID, never your name or email.

What's stored on your device

Retro Gaffer is a browser game. To let you pick up where you left off, it saves data in your browser's local storage — this stays on your device and we can't read it:

You can clear all of it any time by clearing this site's data in your browser. (Heads-up: that also deletes your local save — so back it up first if you want to keep it.)

What's stored on our servers

Nothing is sent to our servers unless you use an optional online feature. When you do, we store the minimum needed to make it work, keyed by your random anonymous ID (with automatic expiry):

None of this requires your real name, email, or any sign-up. Club/manager names are whatever you type in — please don't put personal information there.

No tracking, no ads

We don't use third-party analytics, advertising, social-media trackers, or tracking cookies. We don't sell or share your data with anyone. The only network calls the game makes are to our own services for the online features above, plus your browser fetching the game itself.

Children

Retro Gaffer is suitable for general audiences and doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children. Since no account or personal data is required to play, there's nothing to collect.
